As a family-owned and operated funeral home, Antonopoulos Funeral Home takes pride in our service to Astoria families. We understand your customs, faith, and traditions because they were passed down to us from our own Greek ancestors. Our shared heritage is important to you, and it’s important to us.
Our owner, Gus Antonopoulos learned from his parents, Father John and Ekaterini Antonopoulos, what an honor it is to serve others during times of need. Born and raised in Astoria, he learned the funeral business as a young man while working at the Joseph A. Farenga Funeral Home, which he now owns. After Gus attended St. John’s University and the American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, he founded the Antonopoulos Funeral Home.
Gus Antonopoulos has been involved in the Astoria community his entire life, both professionally and personally. He is active in the Kiwanis Club and the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, and he works closely with the Ronald McDonald House, St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, the Boys & Girls Club, and many other important local efforts.
Gus believes his faith and his family are the two important parts of his life. He considers it a pleasure to be able to serve families while working with his brother Tom. When it comes to providing quality funeral services, every detail matters and your comfort is our top priority.
